Soucie on Soccer

And so it begins…

The more I heard about blogging, the more I was intrigued by the concept.  It seemed self-aggrandizing, narcissistic, and all too much like a twelve year old girl writing in her diary, but it also had this undeniable aura of hipness.  Then the mainstream media started paying attention to blogs.  Blogs were this great new medium, an outlet for journalists who could write the stories they really wanted without editoral approval.  I realized, there really is something to blogging.  What better way for me to say all the things about soccer I’d otherwise have to search for the proper BigSoccer thread to talk about?

Thank you to all of you who are still reading.  Sorry if I came of like a jackass there, but I’m excited.  This is obviously new for me, and will be one of the very few times I get all mushy about what I’m doing.  This blog is strictly about soccer.  Not unlike Ives, I’ll be focusing a lot on the American game, and Americans abroad, but my number one focus will be on “the beautiful game in the city beautiful.”

Being the founder of the Orlando Soccer Supporters Club, I have a deep desire to support the game in the city I live in.  Because of that, many of my posts won’t even deal with the professional side of the game, but instead the youth movement here in Orlando.  I’m hoping to start coaching soon, once my life calms down some, so you’ll get regular updates from my little rec team full of 8 year olds (I’m guessing there) when the time comes.

Again, thank you for taking the time to read.  Please comment when you can, because that really is the only way I get this blog to be less than terrible.
